Event Description

Kathryn Tonnesen, "Late Summer"

Walking The Wild Edge is presented in partnership with the Methow Conservancy and will explore the beauty of pure, wild nature and the tension of human-wild interaction at the edges of the wildness. A portion of profits from the exhibit will benefit the Methow Conservancy and the important work they do conserving our wild places.

The wild edge of nature could be as simple as stepping off of the sidewalk or as complex as hiking alone on a glacier. Walk with us as we journey through the simple wonderful delight of seeing wild animals in their own habitat and the edges where wilderness, wildlife and people meet.

Many local artists were inspired by the wildlife right outside their doors here in the Methow Valley, as well as, the intimidating aspects of wilderness; the way being on the edge of untracked Wild can make us feel small or isolated.

Opening reception Saturday, August 12th 4pm-8pm
