Two women run an all-girls boarding school. One of the little girls, spoiled by her grandmother (who is also the primary benefactor of the school) decides to tell her grandmother a lie about the headmistresses. The lie is dismissed at first, until another little girl is blackmailed into refuting it. This starts an unfortunate string of events, dismantling the lives of these two women, until it is too late to restore the damage that has been done.
This chilling and timely piece shares a story about the power of words, lies, and stories in our lives. Perhaps more important than the stories others tell about us are the stories we tell about ourselves.
