Everyone on the Palouse – especially food lovers, farmers and local purveyors – are invited to attend Moscow’s fourth annual “Love Your Farmer, Love Your Food” event, to be held on Tuesday, February 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the 1912 Center (412 E. 3rd St. in Moscow.)
The 2018 Love Your Farmer, Love Your Food event will focus on women in agriculture and feature a panel discussion with farmers and area food experts. This year’s panelists include Beverly Spencer from Runner Bean Ranch – the recent winner of the 2018 Outstanding Local Food Leader for the Palouse-Clearwater region –, Karen Chojnacki from Reverie Farm, Hannah Binninger from Landgrove Coffee, Melissa Sandborn from Colter’s Creek Winery, Renee Love from Love’s Kombucha, and Christine Hanson from Stratton’s Cut Flower Garden.
These guests will share stories of their life and work in bringing food and goods from the farm to the table. This annual tradition of connecting local farmers with the public and celebrating regional food system successes is organized by the City of Moscow in collaboration with University of Idaho Extension, the Palouse-Clearwater Food Coalition, Rural Roots, the Moscow Food Co-op, and Backyard Harvest.
Guests may enjoy a hosted dessert bar from Goose House Bakery, Kitchen Counter and the Moscow Food Co-op. Coffee from Landgrove Coffee Roasters in Troy, Idaho, and no-host beer, wine, and kombucha from Moscow Brewing Company, Colter’s Creek Winery, and Love's Kombucha will also be available.
