Event Description

Hot out of the Kiln

Shirley Johnson's work took fire along with Mt. St. Helens, which provided her with her signature raw materials. At that time, she began making her glazes using the ash deposited in Spokane when the legendary volcano erupted. Her trademark cobalt and gold glazed wares can be found in May at Pottery Place Plus.

Cindy Sustman: I taught myself to draw as a teenager. I abandoned art to raise my family returning to it in my early 50's. Now I'm an old lady who loves art and loves exploring different mediums.
