Lots of great music for your first Monday of Daylight Saving Time on Spokane Public Radio. Flutist Jennifer Slaughter (pictured here in a "vintage" image from 2015 and in our OLD studio) returns to play and talk about her recital next Saturday in Spokane Valley. With her is a familiar voice and musical presence on KPBX, pianist Melody Puller. They will be in at 10 this morning, with a podcast available this afternoon. The evening brings a special two-section Concert of the Week. Curtain-raiser is a set of pieces from the recent St.John's Cathedral Kantorei Choir concert, including a selection by SPR's own General Manager and composer-in-residence, Cary Boyce. Timothy Westerhaus leads the performance, pianist is Mary J. Trotter. We'll move then to the Davenport Hotel and the most recent Spokane Symphony Chamber Soireé performance, including a Dvorak string Terzetto and selections form West Side Story for brass quintet. Tune in tonight (or listen online) at seven Pacific Daylight Time!
