Season 5, Episode 4: CHAOS 2

Hello, it’s paragon of public radio villainy Anders Lurkawhile here, interrupting your regularly scheduled internet blog reading to announce an entirely new “CHAOS,” the science program that proves that the majesty of human life and culture is really just a fluke of the laws of physics. In addition to celebrating (er, excuse me, remembering) the unexpectedly brutal death of my radio sidekick Dr. Declan MacPogge, formerly of the Institute for Presbyterian Organic Chemistry at the University of St. Andrews, we take a trip backwards—then forwards—then backwards again through time in the Kiosk of Imagination, to check out a great extinction event of the past. Then I interview Jimmie Biomass, a nice enough chap who also happens to constitute two-thirds of the world’s biomass. Hilarity ensues as his assimilating the rest of the world commences. Finally, my new (and non-dead) radio sidekick, “Spurious Jack” Fowler takes us out “In the Field,” to reveal the secrets within the mouths of Giant Patagonian Tapirs.
