Season 6, Episode 15: Raised by Hamsters!

Kevin begins this episode by describing what it was like living next door to kids who were raised by hamsters, and the dangers these kids posed while “foraging” on the bus. Then, to unclump our mental sawdust, we move on to another chapter of “Johnny Hambone, Library Bouncer,” in which Johnny attends an academic conference on Library Bouncerdom. He scowls, drinks with a sputtering old flame from graduate school, and finally has a bit of a fracas over his name tag. And yes, we use the breaking-glass sound effect, so it’s maybe another Bad Day in the Life, etc. After that, Mel and Karnak, those eternally bewildered cousins, head out to feed the ducks, where they meet a bizarre figure in tight pants pushing a baby carriage. Will this bizarre figure slap Mel with a paternity suit, as we’d expect? Why are the babies feathered? Finally, we meet Sturgess Droop, the guide for a boat tour around the Big Island of Hawaii. Droop’s level of ignorance achieves the sublime, as he observes such things as the dampness of the rain. Mahalo! Tony and Kevin close off with a new segment, in which they review the episode and explain why it was a particularly great one.
