Sheriff Expects Arrest in Triple Homicide in Chattaroy

Ozzie Knezovich

The Deer Park community, local firefighters, and Spokane’s comedy scene are mourning the deaths of three people by homicide. The Spokane County Sheriff says investigators have found good evidence in the homicide and house fire that happened Tuesday, but have not arrested a suspect.

Sheriff Knezovich says he cannot comment on a potential motive or what evidence they found, but says they have spent more time on the crime scene than any he can remember.

Knezovich: “I believe that it will be wrapped up in a shorter time than a lot of people may realize.”

The medical examiner identified Terry Canfield, Lisa Canfield, and John Robert Constable as the homicide victims, all killed by gunshot wounds. They were killed at a home in Chattaroy.

Terry Canfield was a Spokane Fire Lieutenant. Mayor David Condon said in a statement that Terry touched countless lives during his 28 years with the department, "and will be remembered as a brilliant paramedic."
