Volunteers Wanted to Help Neighbors Through Storm Aftermath

SPR's list of School and Emergency Information, including Warming Centers

Spokane County and United Way have teamed up to help make sure that residents have their basic needs met in the aftermath of last week's Wind Storm. Areas that have been without power since the storm hit on Nov. 17 are the target for the latest volunteer initiative, Volunteer Spokane.

The group held two training meetings on Monday, Nov. 23 to give volunteers resource information, maps, and contact information to give to households in the affected areas. The City and partner agencies hope these volunteers will be able to help identify people who cannot leave their homes and need additional help.

Information about becoming an independent volunteer is at VolunteerSpokane.org.
