Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra

Israeli violinist, Itamar Zorman, will perform this evening with the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kevin Hekmatpanah. He spoke with Verne this morning about his background in music, how the immigration of people from Europe, Russia and other places in the world, have enriched the musical culture of Israel, and performed a preview of tonight's concert.

Pianist, Alon Goldstein, will perform with the Gonzaga University Symphony Orchestra this evening, at 7 p.m., at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. Cello Soloist, Amit Peled will be performing with the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kevin Hekmatpanah, on Tuesday evening, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. , at the Martin Woldson Theater At the Fox.

This morning, Mr. Peled spoke with Verne Windham during the Morning Classical program about the program, and about performing with a student orchestra.

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra welcomes violinist Cho-Liang Lin for a concert on October 17 at the Fox Theatre.

Bernstein: West Side Variants for Clarinet & Orchestra

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra will present their season finale concert tonight with guest artist and pianist Natasha Paremski.  Natasha came and talked to Verne in the studio today about her international experiences, background, and the selection she is performing with Gonzaga students.

Verne had a chance to talk with cellist Matt Haimovitz today, who is the guest soloist for the upcoming Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra concert. Kevin Hekmatpanah, director of the ensemble, will lead the group through great symphonic masterworks, including Smetana's The Moldau, Dvorak's Scherzo Capriccioso, and Samuel Barber's Cello Concerto featuring Haimovitz.
