Hello Dolly! opens this weekend at the Spokane Civic Theatre. Cast members Heidi Santiago and Robbi Starnegg, along with Director, Troy Nickerson and Music Director, Henry McNulty, spoke with Verne this morning in the studio, and performed several numbers in preview of the show.

Gonzaga University's Theatre and Dance department will present Jonathan Larson's early, autobiographical musical, tick, tick...BOOM! The cast, along with several crew members spoke with Verne this morning about the production, and entertained with a few excerpts from the show.

Courtney Smith is the director, Nathan Patrick Nelson plays "Jon," and is the musical director. Rachael Armstrong plays "Michelle," Jacki Bertagnolli plays "Susan," and Tessa Senger is the Female Understudy.

Director Matt Wolfe, with Jeff Rowden as Elvis Presley, Michael Feldman as Johnny Cash, Matt McClure as Carl Perkins, and Henry McNulty as Jerry Lee Lewis spoke with Verne on Wednesday morning and previewed a few numbers of the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theater's final 2017 main stage production of "Million Dollar Quartet."

On Thursday morning, Musical Director, Chuck Ethridge, cast members, Karen Hunt (Julie Jordan), Conner Ealy (Billy Bigelow), Nicole Delbridge (Carrie Pipridge), Grady O'Shea (Enoch Snow), and their accompanist, Norilee Kimball visited with Verne to introduce the upcoming production of Carousel at the Lake City Playhouse. They also performed "If I Loved You," "When the Children Are Asleep," and "The Highest Judge of All," live, in the studio.

Douglas McGrath is the author of the book for the musical based on the life and music of Carole King, which opened on Broadway in 2014. He spoke with Verne this week about the play and his experience with writing the story.

  Eastern Washington University's Theatre Department is presenting Shakespeare in a new way in their upcoming production of the classic play, Love's Labours Lost. Using the original text of the play, Tony Award nominee Michael Friedman and Obie Award winner Alex Timbers have turned it into a modern musical. Cast members Ethan Lewan, Whitney Robinson and Chris Mudd, along with Director Jeff Sanders spoke with Verne this morning about the production, and performed a couple of the songs.

"Traditions of Christmas" assistant director Tyler Krieg and one of the productions singers, Kalla Mort, talk about the fourth running of this very popular show opening this weekend at the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene.  

Marty Kittelson, president of the Ignite Community Theatre board, and "Christmas on the Concourse" composer Gary Edwards talk with Jim Tevenan about their world premiere performance of this show and its inspiration in Gary Edwards' time spent playing guitar in Spokane Airport during the Christmas season.
