One personal note: I was born and raised Catholic and this time of year, growing up, was all about Advent and Christmas. So I’m a little ashamed to admit I grew up knowing nothing about the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, which as it turns out, began this year on Tuesday evening. So I paid a visit on Tuesday to Spokane’s Temple Beth Shalom to see Rabbi Tamar Malino and get a quick lesson about Hanukkah.
