A note from SPR General Manager Cary Boyce:
Thanks to all of our listeners and friends who have helped fuel Spokane Public Radio for news, information, music, and so much more. You helped us raise more than $121,000 for operations and programs—and we’re still counting. This is short of our goal of $175,000 we hoped to find by this weekend, but we hope to make this up by the end of the fiscal year in June.
Perhaps a combination of a short fund drive (we’d really like to keep it that way), good weather (too good!), a very slow first day, and the close proximity of our “make up” drive in January due to the November windstorm conspired for a slow effort this time.
New membership was exceptionally strong, however. (Welcome new members!) This bodes well both for the future of the station and the ongoing strength of our service. As we get back to “business as usual” after the capital campaign and the move, we hope things will rapidly return to normal funding levels and increased news and services.
Thanks once again for your loyal support. Listeners keep the public in Public Radio.
