Remembering Kendall Feeney

Noted pianist, teacher, and advocate for new music,  Kendall Feeney died March 5, 2017 in Spokane.  She was a member of the music faculty of Eastern Washington University and a pianist with the Spokane Symphony.    For a dozen years beginning in the early ‘90s she presented her Zephyr music series, built around a wide range of music of our time. More recently she was a core member of Tango Volcado, as well as director of the Contemporary Music ensemble of EWU.

She was a frequent reader on The Bookshelf on Spokane Public Radio, as well as frequent contributor and guest on The Piano Bench, Men in Charge, and other creative programs.

Feeney’s memorial service will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 9, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive in Spokane.

The Piano Bench for March 7 was a repeat of an interview and performance Kendall did with Jim Tevenan in December, 2014.
